My mom sent me a special package in the mail for Christmas. My very own antlers from our ranch in Nebraska! I asked her to send me some and when the box came in, I felt like a little kid opening her first present on Christmas morning. I'm telling you, I've never been so excited over antlers before in my life! But now that antlers are making a comeback (stop shaking your head! they are! I promise...), I've fallen for them. And I knew exactly where I wanted to put them. You should have seen me yesterday morning--outside in my pjs spray painting antlers...
Here's what I used to make my sweater trees:
*patterned sweaters from Goodwill
*scrap fabric
*about eight styrofoam cones in assorted sizes for the trees and/or cereal boxes
*fabric pins
I simply cut out the fabric to fit the cones and pinned the fabric in place. I also cut out trees from cereal boxes when I ran out of cones. Easy enough!
And now, whether it snows or not (most likey not), we still have our very own winter wonderland.

I love it! You are so creative! And I would secretly like a giant antler chandelier....they do actually exist, haha! They are not made of real antlers (I think) but are so yummy. My hubbies says no way...oh well!
That is so cute & creative!! I love how it all looks together!!
love it all!! and yeah I have so been wanting antlers for awhile now....!
Those trees are truly very cool!
I love your antlers... and those trees!!! (and your pj's are pretty awesome too!)
I love how you manipulate your images. Do you add a texture layer on top of the photos? Where do you get your texture images to create the dust look to make the photos look old?
oh, i love those trees! what a fun and easy idea!
Loving the sweater trees; what a fun idea!
Thanks for all the love friends! You all are so cool like that! I absolutely love you!
And Anonymous-- all the old looking photos I take are used with an app for my iphone called the hipstamatic! It's a really sweet combination of the Bettie XL lens and Pistil film :) I just got an old pentax from my ranch and I can't wait to use it and see what kind of pictures I can take (the quality isn't always the best on the iphone)
that whole scene is so lovely! the trees and the antlers are perfection!!
i definitely want to make some trees for myself.
I love your trees! I want to make some now!!!
Goodness...I love the trees! Those are so creative, and so fun!
Holy smokes! Love the pattern on the zig zag sweater...makes the tree look awesome! Old sweaters...one of Goodwill's greatest gift to crafters everywhere!
love all this!
Oh my gosh, I'm such an antler fan! and that you got some from your families farm is the best! Love your sweater trees too.
I love your trees! So cute! :)
I absolutely love it!!! And I also love the phrase "antlers are making a comeback." I have to find a way to use that...somewhere...somehow.
Actually, now that I think of it, we have a bunch of antlers in our garage. Hubby grew up on a ranch, and they came from the ranch house!
simply adorable as always. Simply Joye
