I appreciate that you are conscientious and considerate of those who are handicapped and have gone many lengths to ensure easy access into public buildings by those who may have difficulty walking great distances. I have only one complaint. While I may not be handicapped, I am a VERY pregnant woman. While walking long distances is healthy for most pregnant women, I fear that it may bring on early labor for such as myself. I do not wish to give birth to my baby in a public parking lot. I am sure this could cause traffic accidents and citizen paranoia. Not to mention one very distressed pregnant woman. I would kindly ask that you would consider adding special parking for expectant mothers in your regulations.
Thank you ever so much,
A Momma due any day now
Agreed!
ReplyDeletewe have pregnant parking her in Spain. Come on over! Seriously!
ReplyDeleteThey really need to take the expectant Mommy into consideration.
When is your due date? I will be praying.
Big hugs
Dani Joy
I totally agree!!! Some walmart's have spots for pregnant moms, but of course not the one in my town!
ReplyDeletePraying for you and the baby!
like Kelly said, I've seen them at Walmart but not all of them have them. I can count on one hand the times i've actually gotten to use that parking space over the course of having 3 babies! I agree with your post! :)
ReplyDeleteMy local Publix has expectant mother parking. Of course, it's usual being used my someone who is not pregnant.
ReplyDeletePraying for you and the baby!
I have seen that in some parking lots. I always think it is an extraordinary idea. I should start petitioning for it everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't want for you to have to birth in the middle of a parking lot, either. I love your picture!
You should mail that -- seriously!! I totally agree with you! Not that I've been there, but I have gotten really upset waiting at restaurants when I see a very pregnant woman walk in and all the waiting chairs are taken and not one man will get up to let her sit ... crazy!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling well and I can't wait til you birth that baby boy!!
haha.... love it... hang in there, you are almost finished!
ReplyDeleteI would sign this petition :) I always felt like I was going to fall out in the parking lot when I was close to my due date. Even better might be valet parking for pregnant ladies! Ha...a girl can always dream.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Amy
Texas has expectant mother parking at grocery stores (they need it at the mall, Hobby Lobby, and Michael's next). I think that is one of the best ideas for stores and businesses to offer pregnant parking.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about your little one's joyful entry to the world. =)
I remember those days and often commented that there should be a special tag for pregnant women!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteLet's unite and make a movement.
(after you have the baby of course)
:) happy/relaxing days ahead for you.
xo!
I concur! :) I'm currently pregnant with baby #2 who is due in May. Congrats on your upcoming blessing!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Rachel
I have seen that in a few places... but not nearly enough! They should be everywhere! You should really send that letter in. Praying for you and baby!!
ReplyDeleteIn NZ we have special parking spaces for people with prams, and they are right near the entrance. But no pregnant lady parking spaces- now that would be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteugh! that stinks. there are a few places around here that have close parking spots for pregnant mamas and even though i'm not pregnant, i get *super* excited to see those spots! because yea, who wants to have their baby in the parking lot!?
ReplyDeleteSome of our stores here have "Expectant/New Mom Parking". My hubby would always laugh if I made him park there when I was hugely pregnant with each baby, but it was wonderful. I also loved it right after V was born when I was really sore still and my feet were still swollen a week after. I wish ALL stores had that.
ReplyDeleteYeah I've seen those "Expectant Mother" spaces at Walmart ~ they should definitely have them everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you on this! I have actually seen some places have spaces set aside for pregnant moms and parents of babies. That has been really nice for me before.
ReplyDeleteI love that places do offer pregnant parking too. I think all parking lots should have atleast one spot:)
ReplyDeleteThat is so true. Pregnant mom parking would be so good.
ReplyDeleteThose last weeks are so uncomfortable and for some not such a good idea to be walking long distances.
Take care, momma. Can't wait to see new baby pictures.
Nannette
Those parking spaces are definitely very nice to have!! Our local Walmart doesn't have them but the Walmarts where we're originally from and visit often do. And bigger malls seem to have them. I always love parking in them. :)
ReplyDeleteyes, this is sooo true. I was fortunate to get a temporary disabled tag for my last pregnancy but thought they should make a pink one for mommy's to be. It bothered me when the few "mommy to be parking spots" were taken by male drivers clearly not expecting.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes - I'm with you on that. The only place here for pregnant parking is at Babies R Us. They should have it everywhere!
ReplyDeleteParty is over - come on baby!
