10: 30 p.m. and I'm on the phone with my mamma.
A blubbering sobbing mess.
Who else can you call when you feel that low?
We've been fighting the dreaded stomach virus.
And I finally caught it.
Feeling weak and miserable beyond relief.
But I'm still needed.
Little people tugging at me.
Babies wanting to be held, to be fed, to be rocked to sleep.
And I needing the same thing.
Me, the mamma.
Feeling like the little girl.
So I call.
From over a thousand miles away, my mamma's voice.
Hugging me through telephone wires.
Letting me know it's going to be ok.
Loving me at my lowest.
Mammas are someone we never outgrow.

NOTHING AT ALL like the L♥VE of a momma!
Bless you and may you be over this in far less than the norm! Praying Strength and rest for you and yours
Mums are just so fabulous.
What a gift.
Hope all of you feel better soon!
I so understand...Mom makes everything seem better. Hope my kids will always think that way of me.
Hope you and yours feel better soon. We had the tummy bug last week.
I hope you feel better soon! It always helps when I talk to my mommy. :)
This post brought tears to my eyes... my mother has a mental illness and due to that fact she has never been able to be the parent of an adult child... most of the time I don't really realize how deeply that loss stings... but then I see in other peoples lives a glimpse of what it means to have mother, a real mother who is able to relate to you, and support you, and love you... and just in those brief moments, my whole world shakes and I know just how much I've missed, and I wonder how I might be different if only I too had a mom.
I am so sorry you are not feeling well, but am so glad that you have such a wonderful mom! Here's to hoping the stomach bug leaves you quickly!
Oh no - praying you get better soon. Mother's are so good for that - even if they are far away.
xK
Hope you're all feeling better soon, Joye! We never get too old to stop needing our moms. The relationship between a mother and a daughter is so priceless and beautiful.
It's been a really hard 5 years without my mom. I didn't realize just how much my identity was tied up in being her daughter until she was gone, and I felt so lost. But, I know that I will be with her again one day.
I hope you feel better soon!
It is not fun being sick...I will pray that you get to feeling better soon. Yea for moms and how they make it all better!!!

Awww..that brought tears to my eyes!..Especially since I have the blessed-ness of having ALL my GIRLS home this week..The first time in two years!..Oh Glory for sure!..Joey is home from her mission trip to Costa Rica, Montana and my precious grandson are here...and then the oldest daughter Amelia broke her foot...and is home so we can take care of her....She could use your prayes..she had just started her second term of student teaching and is now not been able to go for two weeks...*sigh*..she is having a hard time healing..I think due to her Asthma and all the Steroids she has had to take over the years...her bones are not very strong so a break is a big thing for her!..poor little dear..
I sure hope your MOMMY fixed all she could through the phone!.. Be well and Blessed.. oxoxoxoxo
It is so true. I have made the same phone call myself.
Now, years later, when I am down and in need of my mother, I pray. My mother has been gone for almost 8 years but that does not reduce my need for her. It just makes it difficult. So I pray to my Heavenly Father and I feel better.
