Summer Cleaning Frenzy Here I Come!

Just in case you're giving yourself a headache trying to read the tiny print on the bottom of this picture, here's what it says:

"Because everything in her home is waterproof, the housewife of 2000 can do her daily cleaning with a hose"

Really?  I think I'll have to try that...

Just the other day I was thinking (in my usual procrastinating fashion) that it's about time to start spring cleaning.  I know, never mind that it is now June.  Never mind.  Momstheword is just the person I need in my life right now, because she is hosting a Summer Cleaning Frenzy Challenge and she's been kind enough to twist my arm inspire me to jump in! LoL!  The rules are to choose one room at a time to target.  Okay.  I think I can do that.

My focus room:  The Master Bedroom

Here's what I'll be doing:
  • Fold all the clothes and put them away  (who knows?  maybe I'll find my missing pair of shoes??)
  • Vacuum under the bed (yes, I'll be going where no man has gone before!)
  • Dust
  • Organize my dresser
  • Organize my desk  (if I can find it)
  • Organize my sewing area
  • Finish painting my wall  (I started a year and a half ago...)
  • Make it pretty  (just because)
There it is.  I am now accountable.  And the best part about accountability?  It equals motivation!

I'm excited folks!  I can't wait to see my floor again!

And just in case your home isn't waterproof either, you can join us!

Oh, sounds like my sewing room. I so desperately need to clean it.

Will tomorrow be the day? Who knows, depends how much energy I have after we clean the downstairs and do all our grocery shopping.

GOod luck.
Best wishes.

Oh- what a good idea. I tried spring cleaning (because for the first time in 4 years I'm not moving) and I'm still working on it. I'm going to hold myself accountable to our spare bedroom! Good luck. I'm sure it will look beautiful!

I just finished a cleaning frenzy over here since Kaylee's having a bday party tomorrow. LOL! I can finally see my living room floor again without all the toys everywhere!

So that's the secret?! Water-proofing your home, must've missed that memo. :)
I also chose my master bedroom, it was my dumping ground, but now it's clean- yeahhhhh!
Hopefully I can keep it that way for more than a day!

Oh well I can't participate. My house gets its deep cleaning every week. Last week, I did paint our bonus room and steam clean carpets. The only thing left is the garage and I need to have a garage sale before I can move anything out. Good luck to you. I think you should post before and after pictures.

Oh, our bedroom is icky! We have a floor somewhere, too! LOL! Our bedroom somehow also belongs to the kids, too! They won't be little forever, though...someday I won't be stepping over their slippers, toys and knocking cups of water off the nightstand {sigh} Sounds like a great list! I need to put clothes away, too...I'm missing lots of things! ha ha!

Was that a comic, or did someone really think that, way into the future...year 2000, we would be so technologically advanced that we could just hose down our home? Ha! Ha! I love it!

Isn't it amazing how all those clothes find a home in our bedrooms...my dresser tops are always covered with things I am GOING to take care of someday. I am so bad.

Have fun cleaning your room...that is the room I am starting with also...I neglect it the most.

I was just telling my husband yesterday that I needed to CLEAN our bedroom! The reason it's such a mess is because of all those clothes!! I can't keep up with the laundry, I'm sure you can relate with a bunch of little ones!

I just got done doing this before our inlaws came. I am resting today. ;)
Hope you can get it done. I think I will do it one room at a time and one a week next time. Doing it all at once was so hard on me.

I do the same thing- close my bedroom door so nobody can see the mess! Ahhhhh, but now my room is clean- what a nice feeling! I might just keep my door open today. :)

Good luck cleaning! I picked all of the toys up for the millionth time today, and that was good enough for this house!

Oh my! That's funny! I really need some motivation - my house is a total wreck lately! My husband is a lazy packrat and I'm working 10 hour days - ugh! I think I'll just go get my hose and see how it does, LOL!

I wish a hose would take care of it all at my house. That would be great! LOL

I definitely need to be doing this... especially since we're moving in about 6 weeks! I think I'll tackle one room at a time and clean as I pack! That way we won't have to do a mad rush of cleaning after we're all moved out...thanks for the inspiration! (oh - and I can't wait to see your "kissing tree") !! :)
